DOVER, DEL. – The Alzheimer’s Caregivers Network (ACN), a non-profit organization for family members and care providers of those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, was recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt entity described under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code late last week. The organization is now able to collect donations from individuals and corporations in the United States.
ACN provides resources, information, and support to those caring for people with Alzheimer’s disease as well as those who may be predisposed to the disease themselves. Through the website and monthly email newsletter, caregivers are informed of tangible tips, checklists and advice regarding activities, behaviour management, financial and legal help and other related information both for patients and those responsible for their care.
“This is an exciting step forward for our organization,” said Tyler MacEachran, executive director and vice president of development at Alzheimer’s Caregivers Network. “We can now raise funds to ramp up our much-needed programming and expand our reach to caregivers nationwide.”
ACN is committed to financial transparency and will use donations to fund resources for Alzheimer’s disease caregivers.
